The 2026 Telluride Mushroom Festival parade filled Colorado Avenue with mushrooms, costumes and spectators on Saturday, August 15. The annual parade through downtown Telluride is one of the festival’s most colorful traditions, bringing fungi-inspired costumes and characters onto Main Street against the backdrop of the San Juan Mountains.

Filmed from within the 2026 Telluride Mushroom Festival parade, this video captures both sides of the spectacle—the costumed participants making their way down Colorado Avenue and the crowds lining Main Street to watch, photograph and film the procession. It’s the third installment of my annual “Who’s Watching the Watchers” series, turning the camera toward the people watching the parade as well as the parade itself.
