Camp Alderwild returned to Telluride Town Park August 28–29, 2026, for its second year, bringing two days of electronic music headlined by Of The Trees and Daily Bread. This page documents the festival through photos and video from Town Park and around Telluride, including the festival grounds, campground, crowds and surrounding mountain setting.
Camp Alderwild Friday in Telluride
By Friday evening, Town Park had transformed from the festival site taking shape the night before into a sprawling crowd of Camp Alderwild festivalgoers. Views from around the park offered a broader look at the festival, its crowd and its setting at the end of the Telluride valley.
From above Town Park, the size of the Friday evening crowd was particularly apparent, with downtown Telluride and the surrounding mountains rising beyond the festival grounds.
Can You Find Yourself in the Camp Alderwild Crowd?
Camp Alderwild from Firecracker Hill
Firecracker Hill, immediately south of the Town Park campground, provided an elevated view across the festival grounds on Friday evening. From above the trees, the stage, crowd and surrounding landscape could be seen together as music carried across the park.
Inside the Camp Alderwild Campground
Around 7:05 p.m. Friday, a walk through the Town Park campground offered a different view of Camp Alderwild. The route wound through a dense tent city — including some elaborate festival camps — to Lower Bear Creek Falls, where people were hanging out beside the water, before turning back through the campground and continuing toward the main festival grounds.
Music from the stage could be heard throughout the campground, becoming increasingly prominent closer to the festival grounds.
Camp Alderwild from the Telluride Skatepark
Later Friday evening, the skatepark on the opposite side of Town Park provided another perspective across the festival grounds toward the stage. From this position, the music carried particularly clearly across the park.
Camp Alderwild Saturday in Telluride
Saturday afternoon brought Camp Alderwild into downtown Telluride, where festivalgoers gathered in Elks Park for the stick tournament and other daytime activities.
Waiting to Enter Camp Alderwild
By Saturday afternoon, the line to enter Camp Alderwild stretched well beyond Town Park and into downtown Telluride. The video below begins near the far end of the line and follows it toward the festival entrance as people began making their way into the park.
Camp Alderwild from Tomboy Road
High above Telluride on Tomboy Road, the festival occupied only a small portion of the much larger mountain landscape. The vantage point looked across the valley toward Town Park while also taking in the ski area, Bear Creek and the mountains surrounding Telluride.
The first video was recorded just seconds after Saturday’s music began at 4:30 p.m., as YOKO opened the day’s Town Park performances. From this distance, the bass carried remarkably clearly up the mountainside as the view moved between the festival grounds and the surrounding Telluride landscape, including Bridal Veil Falls and Bear Creek.
Before Camp Alderwild Opened
By Thursday evening, Camp Alderwild was already visibly taking shape around Telluride. Festivalgoers, many sporting the colorful, individualistic style associated with the electronic music scene, were gathering around Town Park, the campground and the box office.
Meanwhile, final preparations were underway for Friday’s opening. Sound checks from the Town Park stage could be heard, and at times felt, throughout much of downtown Telluride Thursday evening, offering an early indication of the scale and sound of the weekend ahead.
